Effectively managing workers’ compensation claims is crucial for controlling premiums, as costs associated with these claims have a direct impact on the premiums and require careful management due to their complexity.

Injury Management and Worker's Compensation Services

Our injury management team provides early intervention and pre-claim injury management by collaborating with your internal personnel to manage all injuries as soon as they are reported. We offer advice on preferred medical providers and allied health providers, such as physiotherapists, to mitigate injury risk exposures and costs by ensuring timely medical treatment and a prompt return to work.

Our team liaises directly with injured workers, supervisors, and medical providers to ensure that they receive appropriate medical treatment from our preferred providers. We aim to implement a return to suitable duties as quickly as possible to minimise lost time injuries. Additionally, we assist with facilitating the return-to- work process and maintaining appropriate documentation, including medical certificates and RTWPs.

We can help establish and maintain proactive injury management systems and procedures to ensure maximum care for injured workers and minimum workers’ compensation costs and exposures.

We provide close and strategic management of all aspects of workers’ compensation claims in consultation with insurers and other key stakeholders, including the injured worker, client, medical providers, lawyers, and vocational rehabilitation providers. Our team assists with the facilitation of the return-to-work process and maintains appropriate documentation, including medical certificates and RTWPs.

We handle the lodgement of new claims with insurers and ensure that any concerns are raised and addressed promptly. When required, we defend claims of concern. In addition, we educate and ensure compliance with all legislative requirements under the Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981.

We facilitate and attend claims reviews with the insurer, if required, and provide advice on WorkCover hearings and informal settlement negotiations. Our goal is to provide comprehensive claims management that minimizes costs and maximizes outcomes for our clients.

We offer assistance with managing non-work-related injuries and medical conditions by providing advice on how to manage them effectively to mitigate risks and prevent aggravations that could potentially lead to workers’ compensation claims. Our team liaises with the worker and their treating medical providers to obtain information to assess whether a worker is fit to return to work after an extended absence due to a non-work-related injury or condition.

If required, we can arrange Fitness for Work Assessments (FFWA) with our preferred medical providers and liaise directly with them. We provide recommendations and feedback based on the outcome of FFWAs and assist with the implementation of non-work-related return-to-work plans (RTWPs) if deemed appropriate.
